More than 1,500 fifth-graders from nearly a dozen local and area school districts participated in Thursday’s sixth annual Science Festival at Penn College, gaining hands-on insight into a host of related careers. The youngsters were treated to a variety of campus demonstrations during the day, and families were invited to a Field House full of attractions during the three-hour evening session.

Pennsylvania College of Technology facilitated “A Little Love” this month for a young technology fan available for adoption. The college’s gaming and simulation lab in the Breuder Advanced Technology and Health Sciences Center hosted WBRE-TV’s monthly segment that showcases children seeking a permanent family.

Industrial design major Cullen S. Berfield was selected as this year's “Penn College Star” following Wednesday's fourth annual competitive showcase of campus talent. The Jersey Shore resident, one of nine musicians to perform, was chosen by a panel of judges and text votes from audience members. Kristen E. This week's Yell(ow) It Out observance, held during a basketball doubleheader in Bardo Gymnasium, once again put a public face on a too-often-private issue. A collaboration of Community and Commuter Assistants, Resident Assistants, Greek Life and student-athletes, the evening focused on the warning signs of suicide and Penn College's ongoing commitment to education and prevention.

In what Alumni Relations and Athletics hope will become a January tradition, members of past Lady Wildcat basketball teams relived their proud Penn College days at a weekend reunion in Bardo Gymnasium. An inspired blend of ancient Iranian culture and modern Manhattan architecture, “Transformation” opens 2017 in The Gallery at Penn College. Running from Jan. 12 through March 2, the exhibit showcases works by Zahra Nazari, a native of Iran who resides and works in New York City. A Meet the Artist Reception is set for 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, featuring an artist’s talk at 5:30 p.m.
