Students must acquire their own tools and laptop computer as noted below.

Required Laptop Computer

  • 64-bit Windows 11 or higher (required).
  • Multi-Core Intel i7 or higher processor or AMD equivalent with SSE2 technology. Minimum of 3.3 GHz speed. (required).
  • 1 TB+ Solid State Disk (SSD) drive (required).
  • 32+ GB RAM (recommended).
  • DirectX 11 capable graphics card with Shader Model 5 and a minimum of 4GB of video memory (required).
  • Video Display Resolution of 1920 x 1080 with true color (required).
  • USB-C and USB-A ports or USB-C and USB-A adapter (required).
  • MS-Mouse or pointing device (required).
  • .NET Framework Version 4.8 or later (required).
  • Laptop must include a webcam and microphone (required).
  • Laptop must include a wireless network card (required).
  • Broadband Internet connection when working off campus (required).
  • Additional plug-ins may be required (Information Technology Services Service Desk available for assistance).
  • Chromebooks and other devices running Chrome OS are prohibited.

This major is subject to the transfer standards established by the College (see https://www.pct.edu/admissions/transfer/transferring-credits). Exceptions must be approved by the school dean.

Alternative Credit refers to academic credits earned through means other than traditional college course completion, including: credit by exam, articulation, proof of competency gained in high school, work/life experience, and advanced placement.

Students receive the OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry completion card through successful completion of the required elements included in our Construction Safety Management course. Students are also required to sit for the American Institute of Constructors (AIC) Level I – Associate Constructor Certification.
