An inspired blend of ancient Iranian culture and modern Manhattan architecture, “Transformation” opens 2017 in The Gallery at Penn College. Running from Jan. 12 through March 2, the exhibit showcases works by Zahra Nazari, a native of Iran who resides and works in New York City. A Meet the Artist Reception is set for 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, featuring an artist’s talk at 5:30 p.m.

Unselfish in their community commitment and undeterred by winter's chill, about 225 people participated in Monday's 10th annual Peace Walk to commemorate the legacy of Martin Luther King.

As snowflakes kissed the cheeks of the freshly capped and gowned, adding a seasonal touch to the affectionate encouragement from students' family and friends, Pennsylvania College of Technology held its Fall 2016 Commencement on Saturday at the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport. Two end-of-semester events capped another fun-filled and instructive year at the Dunham Children's Learning Center: The Penn College facility's annual Family Appreciation get-together – in which children made turkey headbands and prepared snacks that were appropriately "gobbled" up – and a visit from mime Dan Kamin, who was in town for a holiday appearance with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has announced the winners of its annual Food Show, held Dec. 2 to display the artful work of students in hospitality-related majors. The Chef Eugene Mattucci Best of Show Award was granted to Keegan D. Sonney, a baking and pastry arts student from Erie, for a festive “Flan in the Forest” plated dessert.

A curator’s tour of the popular “Connected by Stitch” exhibit is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, in The Gallery at Penn College. Admission to the gallery is free and open to the public. “Connected by Stitch,” a juried exhibition showcasing a wide range of 2-D and 3-D fiber art, opened on Oct. 22 and is set to close Thursday, Dec. 8.

Thursday's "Up All Night" events across campus marked the imminent end of another semester at Penn College. A total of 658 hungry scholars were served at the popular Midnight Breakfast in the Keystone Dining Room; and Madigan Library tempered the butterflies with extended hours and a visit between 70-some students and eight very affectionate instructional aides. – Photos by Grace F.

A ceramics exhibit by four students and one faculty member at Pennsylvania College of Technology – “4+1=Five Hands in Clay” – will be offered Dec. 1-8 in the lobby of The Gallery at Penn College. The exhibit will also feature an auction of 10 clay mugs on display from Nov. 29 through Dec. 8. An opening reception is set for Thursday, Dec. 1, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

A General Services crew braved a blustery morning to install 38 holiday cards designed by student groups and campus departments, sharing a "Happy Holidays" message with classmates and co-workers alike.
