This major prepares students for advanced positions in their respective technical/professional areas.
At Penn College, we believe your educational experience should go beyond specialized skills. Real-world ready means taking a broader approach that builds communication skills, inspires collaboration, and encourages exploration of arts, history, and science.
Specialization requires in-depth knowledge and high-level proficiency. Students learn and apply major-specific concepts, skills, and methods.
Perspectives are points of view, offering a variety of ways of understanding, interacting, and influencing the world. Students identify, explain, and utilize the approaches used by academics and professionals to study, analyze, or understand problems, and offer solutions.

"If it were not for the help of others believing and seeing the greatness in me, I would not have seen it in myself. I have jumped out of my comfort zone, defined myself, impacted the lives of many, and accomplished each and every goal I set for myself."

The Accounting and Business programs have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
Students seeking entrance must have completed or be concurrently working towards a technical or professional associate’s degree, certification, or similar credential in a technical or professional area. Technical/professional credentials would include an academic focus involving scientific or technological studies. This excludes majors with a heavy business management emphasis such as marketing management, business management, or any other major with a non-technical focus. Typically, students entering this major possess 60 credits or more focused in a technical or professional area of study. Final decisions on eligibility for admission to this major resides with the academic school dean or designee.
This major is designed as a Bachelor degree completion program. The curriculum allows students who enter with or are concurrently enrolled in an associate's degree in a technical/professional area to obtain a baccalaureate degree with the last two years having an emphasis in the development of business/management skills.
All students entering the Applied Management bachelor-degree major will be considered for junior-level status, as they will have earned the first two years in their respective associate-degree majors. This applies to Pennsylvania College of Technology associate-degree graduates as well. It is expected that students will carry a minimum of 60 credits from the associate's degree into the bachelor's degree curriculum. Where students have not met the bachelor-degree requirements for the first four semesters, they will be required to take the necessary courses in order to complete the degree. At least 36 credits of the final four semesters of the student's profile must be satisfied by Penn College courses.
Alternative Credit refers to academic credits earned through means other than traditional college course completion, including: credit by exam, articulation, proof of competency gained in high school, work/life experience, and advanced placement.
Visit the Alternative Credit Options page in our Course Catalog for general requirements and procedures and for information on credit through Advanced Placement.
International students who are studying in the United States on an F-1 visa must be enrolled in a full course of study in-person. Students are not permitted to enroll in an entirely online degree. Online degrees are available to international students pursuing the degree from their home country. Students must still meet all admissions criteria for admission to the college and any special admissions requirements that govern pursuit of their chosen major.
