Penn College Workforce Development is offering a short-term welding training program designed to rapidly prepare adults for entry-level welding employment across central Pennsylvania’s manufacturing, construction and fabrication sectors.

Isabella L. Malloy, of Carlisle; Jocelyn N. Pandolfo, of Clark, New Jersey; and Addison M. Zick, of Norristown, were three of 39 aspiring collision repairers in North America to receive a scholarship from the Women’s Industry Network.

With a program-record 33-win season already in the books, Penn College’s all-sophomore and freshman softball team has already exceeded expectations. As it heads into NCAA Division III Regional play starting on Thursday, coach Amber Savage’s goal is simple: “Compete with joy, stay true to who we are, and continue playing our brand of softball."

A year ago, Penn College saw its five-year drought of All-American archers end when Casey Keiter became number 44. This season, coach Dustin Bartron expects what had previously become an annual tradition that produced 43 archers earning the coveted status 88 times to continue.

Social media influencer Steve Thorne recently spent a week at Pennsylvania College of Technology as a student of the Lycoming Engines Service School, offered through Penn College Workforce Development. While in Williamsport, the private pilot also visited the Lycoming Engines factory, interacted with aviation students and created content for his channels.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold three commencement ceremonies May 15-16 for the 832 students who have petitioned to graduate following the Spring 2025 semester.
