Pennsylvania residents enrolled in any discipline-specific associate or bachelor’s degree program at Pennsylvania College of Technology in the 2026-27 academic year are eligible for annual awards up to $5,000 each through the Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program, coordinated by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency. Awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may apply for the scholarships at the PHEAA website.

To be considered for a Grow PA Grant, a student must:
•    File the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
•    Be a resident of Pennsylvania.
•    Meet satisfactory academic progress for Title IV financial aid.
•    Have not earned a bachelor's degree.
•    Be enrolled at least half-time at an approved institution and enrolled in an eligible program of study as determined by PHEAA.  All Penn College discipline-specific associate and bachelor's degrees are eligible.
•    Submit PHEAA’s Grow PA Grant application.

A student can receive a Grow PA Grant for a maximum of four academic years. After graduation, students must commit to work in Pennsylvania, within the in-demand occupation, for a number of years equal to the number of years in which they received the grant.

According to PHEAA, students who received a grant in the previous academic year must submit a renewal application annually; however, they do not need to resubmit the Master Promissory Note within the application. Additionally, PHEAA gives renewal applicants priority in the award process.

If a student receives a grant but does not complete the program – or fails to meet other terms of the agreement – the grant is converted to a loan and must be repaid.

Eligible programs of study lead to in-demand occupations in a variety of career fields, such as landscaping, business, welding, computer science, polymer engineering, nursing, dental hygiene and many more. Approximately 440 Penn College students who applied for the 2025-26 Grow PA Grant are benefitting from this award.

“The Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program provides valuable financial assistance to Penn College students who agree to work within Pennsylvania following graduation,” said President Michael J. Reed. “Our unique, hands-on programs produce graduates who are ready to thrive in a wide range of essential occupations, and we are most grateful that the Legislature recognized this when establishing the criteria for Grow PA. Our ‘tomorrow maker’ graduates develop the skills and leadership abilities to advance Pennsylvania’s workforce – a fact reflected in our 98% graduate placement rate and the persistent recruitment efforts made by our many business and industry partners.”
