This major is characterized by a high level of quantitative and analytical skills with a strong bias towards hands-on work, while retaining design theory and practice. Emphasis is on the skills needed to lead projects and interface with engineering and development teams. The major addresses the need for women and men with practical skills in electronics and computer engineering technology, who are ready to enter the workplace upon graduation. The design is challenging and unique. The technical content is relevant and emphasizes current topics in electronics and computer engineering technology.
Graduates of the Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology associate degree (EE) can transfer into the Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology bachelor degree (BEE) without losing any credits.

Graduates from our programs are in high demand to fill industry positions such as engineering technician, field service engineer, test engineer, application engineer, senior technician, associate engineer, project engineer and systems software engineer. In addition there is a strong demand for graduates who study in the Robotics and Automation emphasis.
According to our most recent graduate survey the average starting salary for Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology graduates range from approximately $45,000 to $50,000.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for electronics engineers, except computer was $98,270 in May 2015. The top 10 percent earned more than $151,990.

This four-year degree major allows transfer from associate-degree majors in electrical/electronics/computer engineering technology from other institutions, as well as those offered by Penn College. This major is subject to the transfer standards established by the College. Exceptions must be approved by the school dean.
The four-year BEE major provides a unique opportunity for students enrolled in the two-year EE major to continue their education and expand job skills in the electronics and computer engineering industry. The first two years of both majors share the same courses, allowing for easy transfer into the four-year degree without loss of credits.
Tools, Uniforms & Supplies
Students are advised not to purchase new tools before meeting with faculty on the first day of classes.
It is suggested that students have at least the recommended tools. Instructors will help identify what tools are needed during the first day of class. Free lockers are located in the laboratory area.
