Although the women’s soccer team’s regular-season unbeaten string ended, two of its players were among four Wildcats who were awarded weekly honors by the United East Conference. Also, head baseball coach Chris Howard was announced as a Class of 2025 inductee to the West Branch Valley Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.

The golf team continued its excellence in United East Fall Preview play, while the men’s soccer, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams all tasted victory, and the last of the CATS Award winners were announced.

Last week, the men’s and women’s soccer teams both went 1-0-1, women’s volleyball was 1-2, and the golf, cross-country and women’s tennis teams also saw action.

The women’s soccer team posted its third 2-0 week of the season and extended its regular-season unbeaten streak to 32, while the men’s soccer team went 1-1, the women’s volleyball squad was 1-2, and the women’s tennis team was 0-1.

The defending United East champions open their season Sunday at The Gauntlet at Bucknell Golf Club.

Two wins upped the regular-season unbeaten streak for the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s soccer team to 30. Also, it was announced that former Williamsport Area High School and Bloomsburg University standout pitcher Amber Cowher Savage is the new head softball coach.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s fall sports teams went a combined 4-4-1 last week, with the men’s soccer team winning both of its matches.

The men’s and women’s cross-country teams will begin their seasons at the Dutchmen Invitational on Saturday at Lebanon Valley College. Both teams had a strong 2024 season, with the men repeating as conference champions, and both feature runners from last year’s all-conference teams.

The women’s tennis team begins its season on Saturday at the King’s College Invitational.

The men’s tennis team kicks off its season Wednesday against Penn State Altoona.
