Last week in review: The cross-country teams closed out their season, the women’s basketball team won two games and at 4-0 continued its best start since the 1998-99 team started a program-best 6-0, the wrestling team had one individual champion at an invitational, and a dozen Wildcats received United East Conference postseason recognition, including 10 in soccer with two Rookie of the Year honorees.

For the men in an 8K race, Holden Furey, of Williamsport, placed 150th among 218 with a time of 29:57 to lead the Wildcats. Also, Chase Ebeling, of Bellefonte, was 159th in 30:16; Mitchell Campbell, of Riegelsville, was 165th in 30:32; Jacob Parker, of Weatherly, was 176th in 31:12; Ben Heym, of West Chester, was 186th in 31:51; Ethan Knapp, of Franklin, was 188th in 31:55; and Aaron Guerrisky, of South Williamsport, was 189th in 31:58.
For the women in a 6K race, Alexis Durn, of Spring Mills, led the squad by placing 148th among 208 in a time of 26:48. Also, Elaina Brady, of McConnellsburg, was 157th in 27:33; Ellie Miller, of Hughesville, was 178th in 28:57; Natalie Greiner, of Mount Joy, was 197th in 32:32; Gwynn Johnson, of Staunton, Virginia, was 207th in 43:45; and Isabella Telford, of Greensburg, was 208th in 43:46.
Also, named to their respective United East All-Sportsmanship teams were seniors Parker and Telford.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Last week’s highlights: In the team’s first 3-0 start since 2008-09, Breana Valentine, of Fairfield, scored 18 points, and Gigi Parlante, of Williamsport, and Lexi Troup, of Huntingdon, each added 11 points in Tuesday’s win over Penn State Mont Alto.
At Pitt-Bradford on Saturday, four Wildcats scored in double figures as Troup netted 23, Valentine and Kayla Herzer, of Brick, New Jersey, each tallied 15, with Valentine also grabbing 16 rebounds, and Mia Patterson, of Loyalsock Township, added 12 points.
Also, in her first two games as a Wildcat on Nov. 7 and 8, both wins, Valentine averaged 21.5 points, 6 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 3 steals and 1 block to earn United East Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Hosting Muhlenberg on Wednesday, Owen Newcomer, of Newell, scored 13 points and Henry added 10 points in a losing effort.
At Keuka College on Saturday, Newcomer scored 12 points and Henry tallied 11 points, while Landon Reeder, of Montoursville, pulled down 12 rebounds in a loss.

Placing fifth were Connor Knight, of York, 4-1 at 133, TJ Martin, of Honesdale, 5-1 at 149, and Gavin Gomes, of Denville, New Jersey, 6-1 at 174. Finishing seventh were Chase Shaner, of Hughesville, 3-2 at 141, and Lincoln Archibald, of Bristol, Connecticut, 4-2 at 174. Placing eighth was Cavin Napoletano, of Killingworth, Connecticut, 3-3 at 157.
