Pennsylvania College of Technology will host the 12th annual conference of the Central Susquehanna Association for the Education of Young Children on Saturday, March 31. The conference is scheduled from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the college's Klump Academic Center and features exhibits and a choice of 35 workshops.

Human services students at Pennsylvania College of Technology will present an Assistive Technology Exposition on April 13 in the college's Field House. The expo, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is being held in conjunction with the Mid-Atlantic Consortium for Human Services annual conference, to be hosted on campus April 13-15.

Did you miss opening night? Still want to catch the crazy ladies of "The V?" No fear! Come out Friday or Saturday as Residence Life, Student Activities, Penn College's Sexual Awareness Week Committee and Lycoming College's Women's and Gender Studies Program bring "The Vagina Monologues" to the Community Arts Center in a talk-show setting "Let's Talk Va Jay-Jay." The show opens at 7 p.m.

Students and employees at Pennsylvania College of Technology, a partner in Lycoming County Big Read 2007, are taking on projects to support the initiative. The National Endowment for the Arts is funding the The Big Read in communities across the nation, aiming to rejuvenate interest in literary reading. For the program here, facilitated by the Lycoming County Library System/James V.

In honor of Black History Month, the Multicultural Society (in collaboration with the Student Activities Office) hosted a Gospel Choir Concert and Step Dance show in the ACC Auditorium on Saturday. The event was open to the public and well-attended. The singing was quite uplifting and the dancing was very energizing.

"It's the same monologues, but not the same show." So promises Kevin A. Hickman, a physician assistant major at Pennsylvania College of Technology and director of this year's reprise of "The Vagina Monologues," to be presented at 7:30 p.m. March 1-3 at the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport. Musician Mallory Scoppa will be the opening act at 7 each night.

The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library, will host the Timothy Hawkesworth exhibit "Paintings and Drawings" from Feb. 27 to April 1. A reception for the exhibit will take place from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, with an artist's talk at 5:30.

Penn College's observance of Black History Month continued Monday night in Penn's Inn, where Maxine Maxwell channeled "Echoes of the Past" in a performance sponsored by the Student Activities Office.

A Montour County native is among chefs from the award-winning Charleston, S.C., restaurants Magnolias Uptown Down South and Cypress Lowcountry Grille who will visit Pennsylvania College of Technology in March to work with students to produce an elegant "Visiting Chef Dinner" that raises money for scholarships.

Dental hygiene students and faculty from Pennsylvania College of Technology teamed with volunteer dental hygienists and dentists to provide free oral screenings, sealants and education for 79 children as part of the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists' Association's statewide "Sealant Saturday" program on Feb. 3.
