Seven teams of regional Volvo service and parts technicians competed at Pennsylvania College of Technology's Schneebeli Earth Science Center from Nov. 6-9 for the right to represent the Northeast region in next month's North American "Volvo Master Cup" finals.

The next accomplished chef slated to work with students as part of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Visiting Chef Series has traveled internationally to share his skills, but, in November, he will mentor budding chefs in his hometown. Born and raised in Williamsport, Chef Scott Rowe's vast experience encompasses restaurants, private clubs and resorts.

An International Reception was held Oct. 18 in the PDC Mountain Laurel Room for about 40 international students, faculty (both international and those who support international programming), local host families for visiting students, and visitors from Tsuyama, Japan (five students and two professors).

Members of the business community toured the Madigan Library on Thursday evening as part of a PM Exchange. PM Exchanges offered by the Williamsport-Lycoming Chamber of Commerce are networking events providing chamber members, business leaders and dignitaries the opportunity to socialize and discuss issues.

Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour held the first in a planned series ofopen forums in the PDC Mountain Laurel Room on Tuesday. The session with no prepared remarks or agenda, and ample opportunity for give-and-take on topics ranging from recycling to "spam" e-mail gathered ideas on improving "Effectiveness and Efficiency" across the college's campuses.

"From Idea to Reality: Developing a Global Product at Penn College" is the title of aLibrary Forum presentation to be offered Oct. 26 at the Roger and Peggy Madigan Library at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
