Pennsylvania College of Technology student James C. Fretz is one of four recipients of a scholarship established in memory of one of the nation’s earliest architects.

Penn College’s annual Scholarship Luncheon convened on Sunday, providing an opportunity for scholarship supporters, recipients and their families to connect with one another.

State and local officials gathered at a Habitat for Humanity home that is under construction just north of campus on Friday to tour the nearly complete project, built largely by students in Penn College’s construction and architectural technologies division, and to highlight the state’s Housing Action Plan to alleviate a shortage of homes in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania College of Technology received a call on Monday morning of an active shooter in the Keystone Dining Room. It was confirmed that our campus was victim to a “swatting,” or prank call. Classes were canceled for the day; campus remains open.

The women’s softball and men’s lacrosse teams each had double-win weeks, with the softball team extending its win streak to eight games and the lacrosse team knocking off an undefeated team that it had never beaten before. Also, the women’s tennis team opened its spring season with a shutout win, and a men’s golfer placed second in his first spring outing.

Pennsylvania College of Technology radiography alumna Kianna A. Rizzo recently visited campus to provide an interactive presentation for students in the advanced modalities class, which explores post-graduation pathways in the field of imaging.

March is National Nutrition Month, and the college’s registered dietitian, Heather S. Brennan, is coordinating a variety of activities to support students as they fuel their busy lives.
