WNEP-TV journalist Mackenzie Aucker visited a Penn College baking lab on Wednesday to interview students and faculty who will help provide a deluxe dining experience to spectators at Churchill Downs during the famed Kentucky Derby.
While they packed bonbons that they will transport to Kentucky for a sumptuous “chocolate experience” in two of Churchill Downs’ most exclusive dining and race-viewing venues, Aucker interviewed baking & pastry arts students Ronald L. Bryant, of Farmington, and Amanda N. Wetzel, of Hanover, as well as culinary arts technology student Tyler S. Cressman, of Reading, and Chef Charles R. Niedermyer, instructor of baking & pastry arts/culinary arts, who has been taking Penn College students to the Kentucky Derby for more than 15 years.
