Students enrolled in the School of Health Sciences at Pennsylvania College of Technology will partner with state and local organizations to administer free flu shots throughout Lycoming County in November. Nursing, paramedic and physician assistant students will administer flu and pneumococcal vaccine and will distribute educational materials regarding the immunizations at seven sites.

Dottie M. Mathers, an associate professor of medical/surgical nursing at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has written three workbooks to accompany medical-surgical nursing textbooks. The workbooks, titled "Virtual Clinical Excursions 3.0," are adapted for textbooks published by Elsevier. An accompanying CD features a virtual hospital with five patients.
Janet McMahon, associate professor of nursing at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently offered the keynote address for the statewide Louisiana Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. Her address was titled "Making the Difference for Tomorrow's Future Leaders" and was attended by 250 nursing educators and students.
Jane J. Benedict, associate professor of nursing at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will be honored in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers." Benedict's biography will appear in the 10th edition of the book, to be published later this year. Teachers who are honored in the book have been nominated by a former student.
