Around 40 ninth- to 12th-graders stayed on campus this week to get a hands-on introduction to a variety of fields during Health Careers Camp.

On March 2, Pennsylvania College of Technology will serve as a host site for the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association’s annual Sealant Saturday initiative. The event is scheduled 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Caitlyn Curley Sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and Penn State University Athletic Conference women’s volleyball Setter of the Week for the period ending Oct. 7.  Curley was on point with her passing, totaling 83 assists (4.4 assists per set) on a 6-0 week for the Wildcats. The pre-nursing major added 21 kills and 22 digs.

Faculty and staff in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s School of Health Sciences recently established an endowed scholarship fund to benefit students in the school.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has been awarded a $570,422 federal grant for 2012-13 in support of a variety of academic programs. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education through the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Perkins Local Plan Grant seeks to help develop the skills of secondary and postsecondary education students enrolled in career and technical-education programs.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s School of Health Sciences hosted 36 high school students June 13-14 to help them learn about a variety of health careers. The Health Careers Camp, open to students entering grades nine to 12, offered hands-on workshops and the ability to network with Penn College students and faculty and working professionals in the health-care industry.
