Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Labor & Industry Nancy A. Walker visited Williamsport on Monday and received a wide-ranging view into the innovative advancements occurring at Lycoming Engines and Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Pennsylvania College of Technology recently introduced a revision to its Master of Science in Nursing curriculum that will reduce the number of required courses, ultimately lowering the cost for students to complete the degree. The revised curriculum will be implemented in May.

The coming days are expected to bring active winter weather systems our way, so it's a good time for the campus community to revisit Penn College's emergency guidelines.

Funeral services are scheduled on Monday, Feb. 10, for Dr. Rev. Frederick Lee Bierly, who taught computer science at Penn College's predecessor institution, Williamsport Area Community College.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Board of Directors has approved actions involving two members of President’s Cabinet.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will host free FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) completion workshops to facilitate the online application process. The sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25, and Thursday, Feb. 27, at The Madigan Library at the college. Registration is required.

Pennsylvania College of Technology recently received a $75,000 grant from a major North American energy company. TC Energy Corp., through its Build Strong program, awarded the grant in support of mechatronics education and the college’s dual-enrollment efforts.

David M. Moyer, assistant professor of graphic design at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has added four art shows to his exhibition portfolio. In addition to being selected for the “Art of the State: Pennsylvania 2024," Moyer’s works were chosen for exhibitions in Bulgaria, Lithuania and Serbia.

Sherry L. Hyland, assistant professor of nursing at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Aspen University. The Doctor of Nursing Practice culminates in an evidence-based practice improvement project. Hyland, who works in the hospital setting in addition to her full-time teaching position, focused on implementation of a standardized oral care protocol for hospital patients in a medical/surgical unit.

Penn College students have reveled in the many engaging activities offered to kick off Spring 2025. Among the fun: “Roller Skating Night” and “Hot Dog, You’re Back!” Both were hosted in the Field House by the Office of Student Engagement.
