Moyer’s art displayed in state, international exhibits

Continuing to boost his long list of art shows, David M. Moyer, assistant professor of graphic design at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has added four exhibitions to his portfolio.

In addition to being selected for the “Art of the State: Pennsylvania 2024” at the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Moyer’s works were chosen for exhibitions in Bulgaria, Lithuania and Serbia. The state exhibition was on display through Jan. 5, with the international shows running through Fall 2024.

“Fish Dreams 1,” an ink drawing by David M. Moyer, assistant professor of graphic design at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was selected for the “Art of the State: Pennsylvania 2024." The piece measures 12.5 inches by 9.5 inches.

Moyer’s “Fish Dreams 1,” an ink drawing, was displayed at the Harrisburg museum and featured in promotions for the “Art of the State” exhibition. In its 57th year, the event showcased 96 works of art by 96 artists from 28 Pennsylvania counties. The finalists were selected from 2,200 entries by more than 600 artists. Artwork represented painting, photography/digital media, craft, sculpture and works on paper.

Moyer won an “Honorary Mention” for “Fish Dream 2” at the 2024 International Contemporary Miniprint of Kazanlak, held at the Kazanlak Art Gallery in Kazanlak, Bulgaria. Marking its 12th anniversary, the event featured more than 400 works from over 140 artists in 30 countries.

“Fish Dream 1” and “Fish Dream 5” were included in the 11th Vilnius International Triennial of Small Graphic Forms, held at the Vilnius Graphic Art Centre in Vilnius, Lithuania. The show presented works by 64 artists from 20 countries.

Moyer’s “Unblemished 13” was exhibited at the Sixth International Biennale of Graphic Arts, held at the Cultural Center Gallery, in Cacak, Serbia. The event displayed artwork by 250 international artists.

This is the first time the Penn College faculty member has had work exhibited in Serbia. His art has previously been selected for the other three shows.

Moyer earned a Master of Fine Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Delaware.
