The family of the late Joseph G. Mark, a 25-year faculty member at Williamsport Area Community College and Penn College, invites the campus community to casually gather later this month for a celebration of his life. Pennsylvania College of Technology will host an April 24 session to encourage a continuing interest in science and math by 10th- and 11th-grade girls. Penn College's Science and Math Applications in Real-World Technologies (SMART Girls) project was developed to counter girls' worrisome tendency to shun math and the sciences as they move through their crucial high school years.
