Pennsylvania College of Technology and its Marcellus Shale Education & Training Center have received grant funding totaling $200,000 for pre-employment training of workers in the natural gas industry and training for specific topics for workers already employed in the industry. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds are being provided through the U.S.
Thornton H. Redman, of Williamsport, majoring in pre-applied health studies: cardiovascular technology, was chosen Tuesday night as "Big Man on Campus 2010" in a charity contest sponsored by the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority at Penn College.

Master falconer and licensed bald-eagle handler Michael W. Kuriga was a guest speaker for Pennsylvania College of Technology students in two sections of forest technology instructor Eric C. Easton's Wildlife Management class on Saturday, April 10. Kuriga brought with him an immature bald eagle that suffered a dislocation in the left wing, injured after falling from its nest.
The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, looking for input on a plan designed to help to save lives when disaster strikes, will hold a public meeting at Pennsylvania College of Technology next month.

The fifth annual Women in Sports Day attended by more than 65 coaches, athletes, prospects, Athletics staff and special guests was held Sunday in Penn's Inn. This year's featured speaker, with a message of "Always follow your dreams," was Sarah Jane "Salty" Sands Ferguson, a member of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. who played for the Rockford Peaches in 1953-54.

This weekend, however, others will travel as the Wildcats host the Eastern Regional Intercollegiate Archery Championships.
Three Pennsylvania College chapters of honor societies held induction ceremonies on main campus Saturday,celebrating more than 90 new members for their academic achievement. Phi Theta Kappa Fifty-six students were inducted into the college's Beta Epsilon Upsilon Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for students enrolled in two-year academic majors.
