A recent donation from ValleyCrest Landscape Maintenance's Norristown office, part of the California-based ValleyCrest Landscape Companies, will benefit students in Pennsylvania College of Technology's Ornamental Horticulture Program. The $500 check was presented by Fred Barberra, a designer/estimator with the Norristown office, and Pat McVicker, a regional recruiter for the company.

BioScience is the monthly, peer-reviewed journal of the American Institute of Biological Sciences. AIBS is an umbrella organization for around 200 biological-sciences societies.
Penn College sophomore Ethan Boyd, an HVAC technology student from Roaring Spring, was named the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference baseball "Playerof the Week." Boyd went 2-for-4 with the Wildcats,tallying a home run and two RBI, against Penn State Harrisburg on March 21.
A motorcycle rally, a new addition to Pennsylvania College of Technology's annual "Walk-It-Out" benefit for the American Cancer Society, will be held Saturday, April 17. The Wildcat Events Board is sponsoring the ride, which will begin at 10 a.m.
A gift from the estate of a longtime school librarian is being used to establish a scholarship fund for students in nursing majors at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The estate of Barbara Oldt has donated more than $224,000 to Penn College to establish the Mary Ellen Horlacher Oldt Nursing Scholarship. Barbara Oldt died in August 2007.
Its men's archery team long has been a powerhouse in national competition, and Pennsylvania College of Technology athletic officials are hoping an infusion of grant money will equip the Wildcat women to compete at the same level.
