The Northeastern Pennsylvania Interprofessional Education Coalition, founded by The Commonwealth Medical College, hosted four collaborative seminars April 13 to promote teamwork and gain an understanding of various health professionals' roles in improving quality and safety in patient care.

Adding to its portfolio of design-related studies, Pennsylvania College of Technology initiated a degree that will help prepare students for a growing field in product and systems design across the globe. Students can begin enrolling in the college's new industrial and human factors design bachelor-degree major for the Fall 2010 semester.

Suchwala, instructor of hospitality management/culinary arts in the college's School of Hospitality, will present "Mushrooms: Fun to Forage, Fun to Eat" in the library's second-floor reading loft from 4 to 5 p.m.

Vol. 8, No. 35 (Through Sunday, April 11) Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball and softball teams went a combined 5-7 last week the softball team, which now is 8-6 overall and 5-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference, going 5-3 and the baseball team, which is 5-8 overall and 3-5 in the PSUAC, going 0-4.

The School of Health Sciences offered an in-service for its clinical preceptors April 9. Darby Lewes, an English faculty member at Lycoming College, offered a workshop titled "Portrait of a Student as a Young Wolf: Motivating Students." The school offers the in-service annually to its preceptors, who can earn continuing education units for their attendance.
