Pennsylvania College of Technology has presented Outstanding Varsity Athletic Alumni Awards to Chad L. Karstetter, of Salona, and Katlyn D. Stupar, of State College. The honors were bestowed Oct. 11 during Homecoming 2008 festivities at the college.

Friday night's Homecoming Powder Puff Game was an amazing seesaw matchup, but, in the end, College West/Rose Street ended up on top 21-14 over The Village/Campus View. The Village/Campus View team started the scoring with a touchdown pass from Jessica Houser to Kat Potacek. Step Karoulas then ran for a touchdown and the tie.

Wednesday's first-ever Homecoming flag football game was termed a "huge success" by intramural assistant Jeremy R. Bottorf, who coached the gray team and provided this summary: The gray team started the game with a long touchdown pass from Craig Flint to Gavin Mock to take the lead 7-0. The blue team, coached by Brian Walton, started driving the field, but came up short on fourth down.

A great start and another championship finish. That was the story for Pennsylvania College of Technology golfers at the conclusion Tuesday of the Penn State University Athletic Conference championships.

John M. Vitovsky, a pitcher/infielder on the Wildcat baseball team, was honored during Monday's doubleheader against Penn State York at Williamsport's Bowman Field. The construction management major from Waymart was the latest student-athlete to be recognized during "Senior Day" activities in each of Penn College's varsity sports.

Pennsylvania College of Technology golfers have had a lock on conference team championships in which they have participated for five straight seasons. Now, their sights are set on No. 6, but coach Chet Schuman knows it won't come easy. The Wildcats will compete Monday and Tuesday in the Penn State University Athletic Conference championships on the Penn State University Blue Course.

The staff/faculty team played hard and made a nice comeback in Game 2, but the student team of Shawn Wesche, Adam Dumm, Joel Reese and Nadine Dumm won the final game, 15-10, to claim Thursday's sand-volleyball match.
