It was "mission accomplished" for the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team Thursday in the Penn State University Athletic Conference championships, but the college's softball team fell just short of its goal. In baseball, the Wildcats of coach Chris Howard edged rival Penn State Beaver, 3-1, at Bowman Field in Williamsport to reclaim the conference crown they last won in 2006.

Tiffany Deihm of Mohnton, a graduate of Twin Valley High School, has been named Penn College's "Student-Athlete of the Week" for April 7-13. Deihm, a freshman pre-nursing student, has excelled on the mound for the Lady Wildcats women's softball team, posting a 4-0 record with 28 strikeouts in 24 innings of work and a 2.08 earned run average.
