Pennsylvania College of Technology's Society of Manufacturing Engineers student chapter recently toured two Pennsylvania companies the Benton Foundry on Oct. 12 and the Perryman Co. on Nov. 2. The Benton Foundry, located about 40 minutes away in Benton, mixes and pours its own compositions of iron and steel according to customer requirements.

Counseling Services is participating in the Ninth Annual National Survivors of Suicide Day on Saturday, Nov. 17. Robert P. Stenerson, a surveying technology major from State College, has been chosen as the Student Government Association's "Student of the Month" for October. Termed an "extremely responsible" member of his campus community, Stenerson is a student member of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors and president of the PSLS student chapter.

When students start scheduling classes next week, they will notice Web scheduling will look and work differently. During the summer and fall semesters, Information Technology Services staff redesigned Web scheduling to be more user-friendly for students. This new design allows Web scheduling to work with any Web browser.

Thirteen Penn College students volunteered for the Lycoming County SPCA last weekend as part of the college's Civility Saturday program. Volunteers worked outside, washed vehicles, helped with cleaning and maintenance in and around the kennel area, organized and cleaned the lobby and gift shop, and were able to spend some time with the animals.
