A faculty member in Pennsylvania College of Technology's plastics and polymer technology department has authored a textbook that has been well-received by the plastics industry. Kirk M. Cantor, professor of plastics and polymer technology, wrote the book "Blown Film Extrusion: An Introduction," which was released in April. The book is published by Hanser Gardner Publications.

Frank Sorg, recently named director of the Pennsylvania Plastics Initiative, visited Penn College on June 29 to tour its plastics facilities and get an overview of opportunities offered through the college's Workforce Development & Continuing Education and Plastics Manufacturing Center, its academic plastics department, and the regional Industrial Modernization Center.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's mobile poly lab will be featured during the opening ceremonies of the state's Career and Technical Education Week celebration, which is scheduled to begin at noon on Feb. 14 in the State Capitol East Wing Rotunda.
