Wide-eyed youngsters at the Dunham Children’s Learning Center celebrated Earth Day by assisting Penn College General Services staff in planting a Bloomerang dark purple lilac tree. An additional arbor activity took place at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center, with the planting a ginkgo tree.
“In honor of Earth Day, faculty and staff volunteered their time to clean up litter and debris along the Lycoming Creek and Old Lycoming Bike Path (part of the Lycoming Creek Bikeway),” explained Mattie L. Pulizzi, manager of employee engagement and wellbeing. “In total, the group filled 11 garbage bags in under two hours!”
Penn College Dining Services’ second annual “Race Against Hunger” raised over $600 for The Cupboard at Penn College, the food pantry for students in need of food assistance. Participants enjoyed a Kentucky Derby-themed menu, featuring bourbon flank steak and mint julep mocktails.
Several Penn College students showed their care for the local community by volunteering their time to support the Lycoming County SPCA's annual Paws Run. Sigma Pi fraternity, who has a tradition of helping with this event for the past several years, came out in full force with 20 brothers volunteering.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Board of Directors has approved the hiring of Katie Bell – a marketing and communications professional with over 25 years of experience in corporate, economic-development and higher-education environments – as vice president for communications and marketing.
Pennsylvania College of Technology is the recipient of a car that will serve as an instructional resource and a marketing vehicle. Volkswagen Group of America and Ciocca Automotive have donated a 2018 VW Tiguan to the college. The value of the car is $21,391.
Students and faculty from Pennsylvania College of Technology collected plenty of hardware at the recent Toyota Green Grand Prix in Watkins Glen, New York. The college contingent – consisting mainly of students from the Penn College Motorsports Association – garnered several awards at the 21st annual event, held at the Watkins Glen International race course.
Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the only international honor society for computing and information disciplines, welcomed nine new members to the Pennsylvania College of Technology chapter during a recent induction ceremony. The new members are the sixth class to be inducted at Penn College.
