Students studying welding and electrical at North West Regional College, in Derry, Northern Ireland, arrived at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Tuesday. The 10 NWRC students and two faculty will explore campus and the region through April 21. The first day kicked off with a welcome from Penn College President Michael J. Reed, followed by an interview with WNEP-TV.

WNEP-TV stopped by the third annual Rotorfest, held Tuesday on the front lawns and parking lots of Pennsylvania College of Technology. Hosted by the emergency management & homeland security major, the event attracted nearly 600 K-12 students and school staff from 13 counties, as well as a range of emergency responders.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students were perfect at the recent SkillsUSA Pennsylvania championships in Hershey. All 11 students representing the school captured first place in their respective competitions, earning a trip to nationals.

When she was a high school senior, nondestructive testing sounded like a fun, abstract concept to Elizabeth M. Tammaro. Two years later, NDT is her rewarding reality. The Pennsylvania College of Technology student has secured a full-time position in the field, several weeks prior to graduation.

An article by Lisa M. Dostick, clinical supervisor of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s radiography program, was featured in Radiologic Technology Review, a student-focused magazine published by Radiologix. Dostick’s article was titled “Administration of Contrast: Understanding Your Role as a Future Technologist."

April showers and chilly temps didn't dampen the enthusiasm of Open House visitors or the Penn College family offering a warm welcome to the college's campuses on Sunday. The event was the second Open House for Spring 2025.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Construction Management Association was honored for the second consecutive year with Associated Builders and Contractors’ Student Chapter of the Year Award. The national award recognizes an outstanding ABC student chapter for its accomplishments in programming, community service, communications/public relations and interaction with its sponsoring ABC chapter.

A group of students and faculty from Northern Ireland are set to visit Pennsylvania College of Technology this month, exploring the college’s industry-standard labs, interacting with students and taking in local sites as they immerse in northcentral Pennsylvania life. This is the third year a group from North West Regional College has made a visit to the college. This year’s contingent of 10 students and two faculty is set to visit April 7-22.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has been named the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania 2025 Partner of the Year for its strong support of the student-led organization – a renowned champion of the skilled trades – for nearly five decades. Penn College President Michael J. Reed accepted the award for the college at the State Leadership and Skills Conference.

“Wally’s Library,” a photograph by Nadia V. Zimmerman, a junior in the graphic design major at Pennsylvania College of Technology, is among images accepted into the Southeast Center for Photography’s College ’25 Online Exhibition. The image of Zimmerman’s lizard is among 50 photographs accepted into the exhibition, on view April 1-30.
