Pennsylvania College of Technology has been named the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania 2025 Partner of the Year for its strong support of the student-led organization – a renowned champion of the skilled trades – for nearly five decades. Penn College President Michael J. Reed accepted the award for the college at the State Leadership and Skills Conference.

“Wally’s Library,” a photograph by Nadia V. Zimmerman, a junior in the graphic design major at Pennsylvania College of Technology, is among images accepted into the Southeast Center for Photography’s College ’25 Online Exhibition. The image of Zimmerman’s lizard is among 50 photographs accepted into the exhibition, on view April 1-30.

The Gallery at Penn College invites campus and community members to “sit a spell” and be enchanted by the artwork of Mayuko Ono Gray. The Houston-based artist’s exhibition, “諸行無常_This too, shall pass,” is on display through April 17 in the gallery on the third floor of The Madigan Library.

A Penn College alumnus, representing the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, met with civil engineering technology and construction management students last week to provide an overview of PennDOT’s digital delivery program, an initiative that is modernizing its delivery processes and contract documentation to incorporate digital data.

An inspirational networking opportunity was served up with the 2025 Scholarship Luncheon, held March 23 in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Field House. Donors and students supported by scholarships enthusiastically embraced the chance to connect alongside family, friends and college advocates. More than 370 guests were in attendance.

Sarah E. Crabtree’s automotive restoration project brought WNEP-TV’s Mackenzie Aucker to the Penn College campus. Crabtree, of Elizabethtown, is a former law student who is restoring her father’s 1971 Land Rover to concours condition, the highest level of restoration.

A foursome of Pennsylvania College of Technology aviation students “soared” above other schools at a national competition conducted at the Aircraft Electronics Association International Convention & Trade Show in Phoenix. The inaugural AEA Avionics Skills Competition tested knowledge and hands-on abilities in five skill areas.

A new “tool” in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s physical therapist assistant program is enhancing students’ hands-on learning experience. The program recently began using a SynDaver G3 anatomy model, a medical-grade silicone model of the human neuromuscular, vascular and organ systems.

Pennsylvania College of Technology earned accolades for two of its marketing efforts in the 18th annual CUPPIE Awards, sponsored by CUPRAP, an organization of communications professionals from colleges, universities and independent schools working in public relations, media relations, marketing, publications, sports information, web and graphic design, and more.

The Penn College chapter of the Alpha Alpha Alpha National Honor Society for First-Generation College Students held its charting ceremony and first induction of new members on Saturday in Penn's Inn. Forty-seven Penn College students were inducted as their family members and other guests looked on.
