The sixth annual NRM Golf Invitational, held July 12 at the White Deer Golf Course,raised about $5,000 to fund an endowed scholarship for Penn College's School of Natural Resources Management. Unfazed by rain and well-fed by Le Jeune Chef restaurant, 21 teams comprised of industry representatives and faculty/staff competed.

The Gallery at Penn College is set to open at the new Roger and Peggy Madigan Library on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus on Aug. 14 and has a varied slate of talented artists lined up for its inaugural year in the new location. The premiere exhibit features a show of work by full- and part-time Penn College art faculty.

The Architectural Woodwork Institutewrapped upits summer Career and Technology Education Week, a series of skill-building sessions and informative tours headquartered at Penn College.

The Architectural Woodwork Institute will host a program of "graduate level" courses, clinics, seminars and workshops for professional architectural woodworkers during its Career and Technology Education Week from June 20-24 at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Sessions will take place at the college's main campus in Williamsport and at the nearby Hermance Machine Co. William F.

During a three-day Health Careers Camp on the Pennsylvania College of Technology campus, 40 teens will convene for a hands-on preview of several career options in the health and medical field. The camp, scheduled June 14-16, is offered jointly by the college and Susquehanna Health System to help students in their career search.

Baking and pastry arts students at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently presented a striking display of fine desserts a final skills-competency test and, for most, one of their last projects before graduation during an "Alice in Wonderland"-themed Grand Pastry Buffet. The Grand Pastry Buffet was held recently as part of the Penn College Foundation's sixth annual Scholarship Reception.

Penn College placed second among six teams in last month's Heavy Equipment Rodeo at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center. The traditional event, at which students perform a number of maneuvers testing their skill on a variety of construction equipment, was won by Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology, Pleasant Gap.

On the heels of a packed SMART Girls (Science and Math Applications in Real-World Technologies for Girls) session for seventh- and eighth-graders at Pennsylvania College of Technology in April, girls entering ninth and 10th grades may register for a three-night, three-day July SMART Girls event.

This year's Penn College-United Way Trash-to-Treasure event was a "sparkling success," in more ways than one. The one-day rummage sale, some say the largest in the area, raised over $2,500 for the Lycoming County United Way and more than 600 pounds of food for the American Rescue Workers. All of the unsold items also were donated to the American Rescue Workers.
