The Gallery at Penn College will host a digital photo stitching workshop with one of this semester's featured gallery artists, Gary Mesa-Gaido, on Feb. 16. Mesa-Gaido, professor of art at Moorehead (Ky.) State University, will teach participants to digitally stitch a series of photographs together to create a cohesive, panoramic image. A session to help families understand how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, sponsored by the Financial Aid Office at Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, on the college's main campus in Williamsport. The instructional session will begin at 10 a.m.
Wednesday's Bloodmobile, part of the Red Cross' "Consider Yourself Asked" campaign, was the most successful in Penn College history. Caring faculty, staff and students showed the true giving nature of those on campus, said Carl L. Shaner, Student Health Services director.

"Planes of Aspiration," an exhibit of paintings by Maureen Drdak, will be displayed through Feb. 12 in the Gallery at Penn College (Madigan Library, third floor). An opening reception and an artist's talk were held Tuesday. Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday, 1-4 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 2-8 p.m.; and Wednesday and Friday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. All exhibits are free and open to the public.

Doubling off-campus police patrols, encouraging faculty and staff vigilance, and using the eyes and ears of the student body to report suspicious activities are among the weapons Pennsylvania College of Technology will use to support community safety in the wake of recent crimes in the city. An estimated 750 or more students turned out for a Tuesday afternoon meeting to discuss safety.
Representatives of Penn College's eight academic schools, as well as alumni and admissions personnel, were a popular attraction during the 92nd Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg this month.
