A graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology's immediate predecessor institution was honored by the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce at its seventh annual Education Celebration. With presidential politics on the minds of many students and the media entrusted with helping potential voters arrive at their candidates of choice two of the country's top media critics squared off Wednesday in Klump Academic Center on the topic of "How the Media Can Sway Votes and Win Elections." The business honor societies of Penn College (Sigma Beta Delta) and Lycoming College (Delta Mu Delta) co-sponsored a guest speaker Barbara Hudock, from Hudock Moyer Wealth Management in Williamsport Tuesday night in the SASC Presentation Room. A "meet and greet" with refreshments was held at 6 p.m.; followed by a presentation and question-and-answer session.

Penn College was site of a "Farmer-Buyer Networking Event" on Monday, during which local farmers, chefs and buyers spent the day together. In addition to networking sessions, the event included talks by Tim Schlitzer, executive director of FoodRoutes, and Luke F.

Spring Open House at Pennsylvania College of Technology, a special mission affiliate of The Pennsylvania State University, will be held Saturday, March 29, providing opportunities for prospective students, their families and friends to explore the college, its academic majors and facilities. The event will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To encourage students to have a healthy and safe Spring Break, AAA North Penn and a number of campus offices are co-sponsoring "Happy Hour Keep It Happy" from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in Penn's Inn (CC, second floor). Information regarding alcohol, safe sex, highway safety, safe sun exposure, etc., will be provided in a party atmosphere.

On Sunday, the Office of Residence Life concluded its celebration of African-American History Month with a Soul Fest program in the PDC.

Industry representatives from around the United States and Canada participated in the inaugural Commercial Modular Installation and Site Management Course at Pennsylvania College of Technology, a joint venture of the Factory Built Housing Center at Penn College and the Modular Building Institute, Charlottesville, Va.
