An opening reception was held Tuesday evening for "60x60: Small Prints From Purdue University Galleries," the current exhibit on the third floor of Madigan Library. All of the images in the traveling exhibit, on display through Feb. 3 in The Gallery at Penn College, are no larger than 60 square inches. Gallery hours are 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; 2-8 p.m.

Faculty/staff and students filled Penn's Inn during Tuesday's inauguration of President Barack Obama, as NBC's televised coverage was beamed onto the room's large projection screen. Extra chairs were set up to accommodate the large crowd at the event, which was coordinated by Student Activities and included light refreshments.

Penn College was represented in Monday's events to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. Damon Anderson, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lycoming County, spoke to students, faculty and staff about the civil-rights leader's life during a breakfast in the PDC Mountain Laurel Room.

Penn College is well-represented on a number of fronts at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, under way through Saturday in Harrisburg. Special events specific to a variety of Penn College academic schools are interspersed throughout the popular eight-day event, and the Admissions and Alumni Relations offices are on hand daily. Sixteen students in the Practical Nursing Program at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus were recognized in a graduation ceremony held Dec. 19. Lee Strange, a registered nurse at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, was selected by the students to be the distinguished speaker. Sharon K.

Fresh from a Friday snowstorm that set the stage, Penn College held its Winter Commencement ceremony Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport. The student speaker was John T. Lipko, of Mifflinburg, who was awarded a bachelor's degree in technology management from the School of Business and Computer Technologies. The syndicated "Entertainment Tonight" television show aired a report Thursday on Pennsylvania-born actor Michael Keaton's receipt of a Governor's Arts Award at a Nov. 12 ceremony in the Community Arts Center. Excerpts from the presentation, provided by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, also were posted to the "ET" Web site.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will host a variety of activities at the 2009 Pennsylvania Farm Show, to be held in Harrisburg Jan. 10-17. Throughout the day Saturday, Jan. 10, the college's School of Transportation Technology will offer demonstrations and hands-on activities in automotive, aviation and collision repair.

Food Show photo gallery Pennsylvania College of Technology students raised more than $1,600 for Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity during the annual "House for a Home" chocolate house auction Dec. 5. The event was held during the college's Food Show, which showcases final projects of students from several School of Hospitality classes.
