Students in the Masonry Principles class, taught by Scott A. Bierly, instructor of building construction technology, recently applied their hands-on skills at the college’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center. Two sections of the class spent time at the campus – near Montgomery – to replace the bottom portion of two timber columns at the entrance of the center’s main building.

An industry leader has extended its long-standing commitment to the polymer engineering program at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Novatec Inc. – the largest U.S.-owned manufacturer of resin conveying, drying and complete material-handling systems for the plastics processing industry – has renewed for two years its entrustment of resources used by polymer students.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors approved two retired faculty for emeritus status during its Oct. 9 board meeting. Kirk M. Cantor, polymer engineering, and Keith A. Vanderlin, graphic design and art, received this recognition.

Work at a Habitat for Humanity home being built largely by students on Fifth Avenue, just north of campus, continues to progress. The college and Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity staff hosted a cookout and open house at the site on Thursday, inviting those who worked on the home over the past three semesters to see the current progress.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s “Accelerated Learning” is at it again, and this time, the Diesel Performance Club’s 12,000-pound 1959 B-61 Mack truck advanced to the seventh-round finals of the Maple Grove Dragway’s 2025 Keystone Truckin’ Nationals. Narrowly missing the top prize by a margin of only .079 seconds, the crew has now celebrated two back-to-back years of success for a project 25 years in the making.
