Penn College grad Judi Jessick ’02 returned to campus Feb. 26 to read the second volume in her Agatha Livermore picture book series to the Butterflies classroom at the Dunham Children’s Learning Center.

Penn College and the Scouting America Susquehanna Council teamed up on Saturday to offer 20 merit badges in the college’s state-of-the-art labs, with instruction from the college’s faculty experts.

Forty-two girls, in kindergarten to sixth grade, attended Penn College’s annual Girls and Women in Sports Day Clinic on Feb. 8, where they not only received instruction from Penn College’s women’s athletes and coaches, but learned wider lessons about self-esteem and what it means to be a girl in sports.

Regional Scouts can earn up to three merit badges during Merit Badge College, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 14 at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Twenty badges will be available as the Scouts benefit from faculty expertise and Penn College’s high-tech instructional facilities.

Penn College joined The Guthrie Clinic in hosting the Northern Tier Regional Rural Health Summit on Wednesday. More than 100 health care leaders, policymakers and community partners converged on Penn College’s main campus to address pressing challenges and opportunities facing rural health care in Bradford, Clinton, Lycoming, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga and Wyoming counties.
