Friday night's Homecoming Powder Puff Game was an amazing seesaw matchup, but, in the end, College West/Rose Street ended up on top 21-14 over The Village/Campus View. The Village/Campus View team started the scoring with a touchdown pass from Jessica Houser to Kat Potacek. Step Karoulas then ran for a touchdown and the tie.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has designated three student leaders to serve as community assistants for the 2008-09 academic year. The students will serve as a resource for off-campus students, help to promote a safer off-campus community and enhance the link between the college administration and off-campus students. Staff members represented Penn College at the 2008 Connecticut Construction Career Days event in Wallingford, Conn, on Oct. 7-8. Pennsylvania College of Technology has been notified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that it along with other Pennsylvania colleges and universities faces a potential 4.25-percent reduction in state funding for 2008-09. President Davie Jane Gilmour said President's Council is working on a budget-adjustment plan forSpring 2009that would address the potential reduction in state funding.

Candace S. Baran has been named director of financial aid at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Baran, formerly a director of professional and community education for Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College, succeeds Dennis L. Correll, who was appointed to the new position of associate dean of admissions and financial aid in June.

The graphic communications program at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been selected as one of four finalists to receive a grant of equipment from the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation. Wednesday's first-ever Homecoming flag football game was termed a "huge success" by intramural assistant Jeremy R. Bottorf, who coached the gray team and provided this summary: The gray team started the game with a long touchdown pass from Craig Flint to Gavin Mock to take the lead 7-0. The blue team, coached by Brian Walton, started driving the field, but came up short on fourth down.
