Mack Trucks Inc. recently donated $36,000 worth of transmissions two Allison transmissions and a Mack unit to Penn College's Schneebeli Earth Science Center for student instruction. Mark E. Sones, instructor of diesel equipment technology, was able to secure the generous donations from Mack Trucks' Macungie facility when he heard they were available.

An innovator and leader in the science of food and flavor will visit Pennsylvania College of Technology's campus in November as part of the School of Hospitality's Visiting Chef Series. During his stay, Chef Steven Schimoler, owner and chef of Crop Bistro & Bar in Cleveland, will mentor students as they prepare the Visiting Chef Dinner, to be served Friday, Nov. 7, to benefit scholarship funds.

After winning its first conference women's volleyball championship in 2004, Pennsylvania College of Technology has recorded three consecutive second-place finishes. But, it gets another shot at being No. 1 this weekend. The Wildcats face Penn State Schuylkill at 1:45 p.m. Saturday in the Penn State University Athletic Conference playoffs at Penn State Fayette.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors on Thursday authorized acquisition of three properties to be used for additional college parking and approved a bid for demolition/replacement of the college's Rose Street warehouse. The board authorized the administration to purchase properties at 1100 W. Third St., 313 Susquehanna St. and 1109 Vine Ave.
