Thirty-nine boxes, 100 canvases, 54 students, an artist-in-residence, and Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty and staff members combined to create a large-scale work of art that was installed recently in the college's Student and Administrative Services Center.

The recent donation of a mini excavator will benefit a variety of academic majors within Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Natural Resources Management. Jon Hume, the Case New Holland product specialist who arranged for the donation, delivered a 2007 E27B mini excavator and an Isuzu engine to the college's Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood.

With their preseason games behind them, the men's and women's basketball teams at Pennsylvania College of Technology are set to step into Penn State University Athletic Conference action Wednesday at home against Penn State Hazleton. The women (2-3 overall) play at 6 p.m. and the men (1-4) at 8 p.m.

Seven students in the Penn College Construction Association recently visited the Schneebeli Earth Science Center for a tour of the lumber mill. Forestry instructor Jack Fisher provided a thorough tour of the mill, lumber yard and dry kiln for the students.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee sponsored a canned-food drive during the past week, culminating in Monday's men's and women's basketball games in Bardo Gymnasium. The student-built Victorian House on Penn College's main campus was featured along the Victorian Christmas Tour, held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday as part of Williamsport's 12th Annual Victorian Christmas weekend. A short synopsis of the Victorian House, including recipes from the School of Hospitality's Chef Paul Mach, was distributed to all ticketholders.

A member of the sociology faculty at Pennsylvania College of Technology was published recently in Sociological Viewpoints, the journal of the Pennsylvania Sociological Society. Vinay Bahl, associate professor of sociology, wrote a review of the book "Hate Crimes and Ethnoviolence: The History, Current Affairs, and Future of Discrimination in America" by Howard J. Ehrlich.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's extended family again sends its "Season's Greetings" to classmates and co-workers alike, colorfully plying imagination, artistry and elbow grease in bringing to life these 44 greeting cards on display outside the Breuder Advanced Technology and Health Sciences Center.

Four members of the Penn State University Athletic Conference-championship Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team earned First Team All-Conference honors and Chris Brennan (New Hope) was named Newcomer of the Year. Brennan also was a first-team honoree, along with Seth Rearick (Watsontown), Patrick Masango (Cameroon) and Tristan Smith (Bermuda).
