For those interested in beginning a career in the exciting field of health care, the next medical assistant class at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro will begin in October.
The practical nursing program at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus has been approved for initial accreditation by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Accreditation provides recognition that a program has been evaluated by a qualified, independent group of competent peers who have found it to meet appropriate higher-education criteria in a satisfactory manner.
Penn College held another successful Welcome Weekend on Aug. 15-16, offering students introductions to new friends and new surroundings alike. Thomas E. Vargo Sr., whose years at Williamsport Area Community College (predecessor to Penn College) included membership on the health and physical education faculty, died Thursday, Aug. 13. The success of archer Zachary Plannick, a rising Penn College junior who was a member of America's gold medal-winning men's compound team in the recent World University Games in Serbia, is noted on the U.S. Collegiate Archery Web site.
