A vintage automobile has been given to Pennsylvania College of Technology by a Centre County resident who used it to commute to classes at a predecessor institution 50 years ago. Galen Mellott, of Port Matilda, who attended Williamsport Technical Institute for toolmaking technology from 1962-64, donated a 1940 Ford for use by students in the college’s automotive restoration technology major.

Students from Penn College's School of Business & Hospitality were among the judges for Saturday's Grill-Off at the Young Men's Republican Club, which remains strong and active in the community 140 years after its founding. The annual event is just one of several hosted by the club to raise money for charitable organizations, outreach programs and college scholarships.

A free, public showing of a film about mental illness, hosted by Pennsylvania College of Technology Counseling Services, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, on the college’s main campus in Williamsport. The 90-minute presentation, titled “Call Me Crazy,” will be screened at 7:30 p.m. in Penn’s Inn, on the second floor of the Bush Campus Center.
