The Outreach for K-12 Office at Pennsylvania College of Technology, through its work with the state's Career Development Leaders Network, helped to recruit presenters and plan eight conference sessions to help Pennsylvania schools implement the state's Career Education and Work Standards.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation's recent dinner auction set a new record for funds raised at the biennial event. Robb C. Dietrich, executive director of the Penn College Foundation, said more than $58,000 was raised at the event. He said the total was about $4,000 more than the amount raised at the last dinner auction in 2008.

The Penn College men's soccer team clinched the top seed of the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference playoffs with a 2-0 win against Penn State Hazleton on Tuesday. The Wildcats went undefeated in conference play and will now host one of the PSUAC semifinals at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27.

A Tuesday afternoon gallery talk and an evening Meet the Artist reception formally opened "I Am," artwork by Antonio Puri that will be exhibited on the third floor of the Madigan Library through Nov. 7. During his weeklong stay as an artist in residence, Puri is engaging students from multiple disciplines to create a large-scale work that will be permanently installed on campus.

Much of the cement-block work is up for Penn College's new masonry building near the northwest side of main campus, according to construction manager Andrew M. Richardson, who said the general contractor (Lobar Inc.) is waiting to receive steel next week.
