The creative spirit of Pennsylvania College of Technology students and staff is again on display on campus this time in Dauphin Hall, the college's newest residence hall.
Penn College hosted a very successful East Coast Collegiate Karate Union Tournament in the Field House on Saturday. Martial Arts Club members Mathew D. Johnson, Cory L. Buckles, Madelyn M. Lanoue, Kyle M. Zechman and Simranjit S. Mavi competed in kata (forms) and kumite (sparring) against college students from across Pennsylvania, New York and Rhode Island.
Bison Battalion ROTC, along with nine members of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps from Shikellamy High School, completed Combat Water Survival Training over the weekend to improve individual confidence levels, build unit cohesion and prepare cadets for continuing training. The event took place at the Bucknell University swimming pool from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday.

Competing Sunday in the Penn State University Athletic Conference/United States Collegiate Athletic Association wrestling championships, Pennsylvania College of Technology placed third as a team and crowned two individual champions.
On March 2, the public is invited to view intricately decorated, multitiered cakes created by Pennsylvania College of Technology's baking and pastry arts students. "Butterflies" is the theme for the cakes, which will be displayed as part of a contest developed for the students by an industry leader in the world of wedding cakes. Tickets are available for this year's Murder Mystery Dinner "Big Lies in the Big Easy" set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, in the Mountain Laurel Room of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Thompson Professional Development Center. Prices are $15 for students and $19 for faculty and staff; the event is sponsored by the School of Hospitality's catering class and the Student Activities Office.
