On a sunny and steamy –  but thankfully rain-free –  Saturday, Penn College held its August commencement ceremony for more than 230 students who petitioned to graduate after summer sessions. Brandy Leigh Krause, of Pine Grove, whose associate degree in radiography caps a college career marked by academic excellence, campus involvement and athletic accomplishment, was the student speaker.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has presented student achievement awards to its August 2012 graduates. A Summer Commencement ceremony was held Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport. The award winners, their hometowns and academic majors are: President’s Award, presented for leadership and service to the college: Brandy Leigh Krause, Pine Grove, radiography.

Fancy footwork amid competition's blur Campers, counselors and 'cutters Adults plot their strategy Two players from the Williamsport Crosscutters made a Thursday appearance at Camp ESCAPE, where they signed autographs, gave the campers tickets to a game and were challenged to a game of dodgeball. In the end, the campers defeated the Crosscutters and counselors 2-1 in a best-of-three series.

More than 80 Pennsylvania College of Technology students are scheduled to help provide medical coverage at the 2012 Little League Baseball World Series, which runs from Aug. 16-26 in South Williamsport.
