Carolyn M. Jacobson has been named assistant dean of business and computer technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology. "We are very pleased to have Dr. Jacobson join the School of Business and Computer Technologies at Penn College," said Paul L. Starkey, vice president for academic affairs/provost.

The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library, will host "Bodies Under Pressure," a collection of sculptures by Douglas Tausik, from July 12 to Aug. 21. The Gallery at Penn College will host the traveling exhibit "Intruding Umbrellas," by members of the Society for the Art of Imagination, from July 14 to Aug. 28 in The Madigan Library. A Life Flight crew landed a helicopter on campus Thursday for the benefit of students in emergency medical services majors. The regional helicopter service, part of Geisinger Health System, operates aircraft from the Williamsport Regional Airport, along with four other locations.

An information session for the next medical (office) assistant class to be offered at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus will be held July 26. The information session will begin at 9 a.m. at the North Campus, located three miles east of Wellsboro. The next medical assistant class is scheduled to begin in mid-September.
Pennsylvania College of Technology employees Katherine A. Walker and Jeannette F. Carter were among presenters at Williamsport Area School District's first Millionaire Career Camp. According to Carol Watson, a middle school family and consumer sciences teacher in the district who helped to host the camp, the event was designed to introduce girls to careers in science and math fields.
