David R. Cotner has been named assistant dean in the School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Kenneth E. Carl During a 36-year career in higher education – more than one-third of the century celebrated during the centennial of Penn College and its predecessors – Kenneth E. Carl tirelessly wore many hats: alumnus, faculty member, president and mentor.

A memorial service will be held Jan. 12 for Steve Hirsch, a retired full-time faculty member in Penn College's Department of Art and Design, who died Friday, Jan. 4. He retired in 2007 as an assistant professor of advertising art after 15 years of teaching in the School of Integrated Studies' Graphic Design program. The service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Pajama Factory, 1307 Park Ave.
