The state Senate Majority Policy Committee held a public hearing Thursday in Penn College's Thompson Professional Development Center on issues surrounding the potential Marcellus Shale gas reserves. "Precision Heavy Equipment Operational Efficiency," a course provided through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will be offered April 3 and May 22 at the college's Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood. The four-hour noncredit course will be offered on both days from 1 to 5 p.m. in Room 159 of the Earth Science Center. The cost is $125.

The School of Health Sciences and Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology are sponsoring the four-day workshop "Sensory Integration for Pediatric Occupational Therapists" at the college in May. The first meeting of the Marcellus Shale Industry Partnership, formed to address the natural-gas industry's workforce needs in conjunction with the exploration of potential gas reserves within the region's Marcellus Shale formation, was held Monday on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus.

Steve Shaible, Zane Patalive and Kenny Steinbacher attended the TechEd conference at Orlando's Orange County Convention Center in June, and Shaible and Patalive took part in July's Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Houston.
