Pennsylvania College of Technology's Plastics Manufacturing Center held its 11th Annual Extrusion Seminar & Hands-On Workshop on the college's campus in early June.

Six students from Pennsylvania College of Technology's English as a Second Language class recently completed service learning projects at the Messiah Lutheran Senior Center and The Campbell Street Youth, Family and Community Association. The projects ran throughout the Spring 2009 semester and were designed to be mutually beneficial for the students and the participating community agencies.

The state Senate Majority Policy Committee held a public hearing Thursday in Penn College's Thompson Professional Development Center on issues surrounding the potential Marcellus Shale gas reserves. The first meeting of the Marcellus Shale Industry Partnership, formed to address the natural-gas industry's workforce needs in conjunction with the exploration of potential gas reserves within the region's Marcellus Shale formation, was held Monday on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus.

The Weatherization Training Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology held its first Building Performance Institute training and certification event during the week of Jan. 12. Weatherization staff representing the Central Community Action Program, SEDA-COG, STEP Inc. and the Westmoreland County Weatherization Program participated in the four-day event.
