Pennsylvania College of Technology's baseball team continues pursuit of its second straight Penn State University Athletic Conference championship when it returns to the field Saturday at 1 p.m. at Penn State New Kensington. Although roster numbers are down somewhat this year, the optimism for the coming women's softball season expressed by Pennsylvania College of Technology coach Roger Harris is as high as ever. The Wildcats, Harris' eighth edition, open their season Tuesday at Penn State Harrisburg. "Last fall and early this spring, when I started looking at who we had, I was optimistic," Harris said.

Simon, a business management student from Renovo, scored 382 points during the Wildcats' 18-12 season that included a sixth-place finish in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association national tournament.

Pennsylvania College of Technology archers closed out the indoor portion of their schedule in grand fashion last weekend, taking one team first, two team seconds and three individual firsts at the U.S. Collegiate Indoor Eastern Regionals in Harrisonburg, Va. Two Penn College men's basketball players have been named to the 2009 Penn State University Athletic Conference All-Conference Team. Leroy Joiner, a freshman guard from Williamsport, and Craig Flint, a senior guard from Port Allegany, were honored by the conference Monday. Joiner, an early childhood education major, led the team in scoring this season with 492 points.
