One of the longest-running instructional programs at Pennsylvania College of Technology – and one of the oldest continuous automotive programs in the nation – celebrated its 100th anniversary Friday in the Parkes Automotive Technology Center.

About 50 graduates of Williamsport Technical Institute, Pennsylvania College of Technology's earliest forerunner, were among the distinguished visitors Friday for a 14th annual reunion. Held during the college's ongoing Centennial celebration, the alumni and their guests enjoyed lunch and reminiscence in the Thompson Professional Development Center, as well as other campus activities.

With commencement barely a month away, Penn College's campus leaders recently brought the curtain down on another impressive year. The annual Student Activities Awards Banquet, held Wednesday in Penn's Inn, shone the spotlight on a number of deserving individuals and organizations, many of whom took home awards for academic achievement, philanthropy, community service and mentorship.

Penn College's fraternities this week raised $570.32 in an uncommonly colorful way: painting patrons' fingernails in a choice of five shades, each keyed to a particular charitable concern. The "Man-i-Cures for a Cause" event, held from 2-6 p.m.

A "Cultural Immersion" trip to Washington, D.C., over Spring Break acquainted Penn College students with the smorgasbord of issues, art, food and ethnicity in the nation's capital.

Career Fairs this week gave Penn College students and alumni invaluable access to more than 180 employers representing nearly 2,100 job and internship opportunities. This semester’s Career Services-sponsored events were from 9 a.m.-noon Monday in the ATHS lobby for health sciences majors; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday in Bardo Gym for all majors; and 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
