Pennsylvania College of Technology held its Fall 2017 graduation ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in the Community Arts Center, closing out the calendar year with a seasonal observance of academic achievement. The student speaker was Garrett Davis Corneliussen, of Hickory, North Carolina, who received a Bachelor of Science degree in welding and fabrication engineering technology.

Tomorrow's leaders convened at Penn College on Wednesday, acting as delegates from across the country considering amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

When five Pennsylvania College of Technology nursing students provided a briefing on their study abroad course at a weeklong, volunteer-led medical clinic in rural Guatemala, chief among the lessons they learned were gratitude and patience.

Pennsylvania College of Technology announced winners of its Fall Food Show, held Dec. 1 at the college. Earning the Chef Eugene Mattucci Best of Show Award was the student duo of Ashley R. Potrzebowski, of Williamsport, and Kelsie F. Thomas, of Darby, for their “Beer & Pub Style Christmas” platter and charcuterie board.

As students look ahead to the semester break and holiday reunions with family and friends, there is but one immovable consideration in their path: that formidable force that is Finals Week. Holiday cards created by student organizations and campus offices, sharing their seasonal sentiments with the Penn College community in a variety of creative and thematic ways, were installed Tuesday on the Breuder Advanced Technology & Health Sciences Center lawn. The 39 cards will be lighted − and winners announced in both categories − at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Entering “The Spaces Between” “Rabbit Dreams” explores a tale of Johnson’s son and a bunny. A large crowd listens intently as the artist speaks. Johnson discusses artistic endeavors, including manipulating light. A student, attending the event for a class, leans into contemplation and note taking.

“The Spaces Between,” an exhibit of large-scale figurative drawings and paintings by Kansas City-based artist Melanie Johnson, is on display Oct. 27 through Dec. 7 at The Gallery at Penn College. A Meet the Artist Reception will be held Thursday, Nov. 16, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 5:30 p.m. The gathering and exhibit are open and free of charge to the public.

Pennsylvania College of Technology dedicated its Veterans & Military Resource Center on Nov. 10, choosing a solemn weekend of remembrance to invoke the memory of an impressive “fellow soldier.” Named the Major General Fred F.
