A big, blustery "Thank you" to the youngsters at the Dunham Children's Learning Center for reminding us that there's more to the season than sliding, shoveling, heating bills, scraping, slipping, plowing and white-knuckled driving.

The first floor of Madigan Library is overflowing with imaginative creations by Pennsylvania College of Technology students: “Old Books/New Lives: The Art of Upcycling,” an exhibit of “novel” artwork, is on display through Feb. 28. The library and The Gallery at Penn College invited students, faculty and staff to upcycle a selection of old books into creative art objects.

Visually stunning reinventions of the printed page will fill the Madigan Library at Pennsylvania College of Technology in two exhibitions in January and February.

A formal event at the Pennsylvania Governor’s Residence was the destination for eight exceptional Pennsylvania College of Technology hospitality students, who were given the opportunity to showcase their skills and work alongside the residence’s executive chef.

Pennsylvania College of Technology held its Fall 2017 graduation ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in the Community Arts Center, closing out the calendar year with a seasonal observance of academic achievement. The student speaker was Garrett Davis Corneliussen, of Hickory, North Carolina, who received a Bachelor of Science degree in welding and fabrication engineering technology.

When five Pennsylvania College of Technology nursing students provided a briefing on their study abroad course at a weeklong, volunteer-led medical clinic in rural Guatemala, chief among the lessons they learned were gratitude and patience.
